The Logistics Society has, in 2005, inaugurated a Distinction Award for deserving students or members. The award honors those members who, through example and accomplishment, make significant and continuing contributions to the Society over a period of at least one year.

Being selected as a recipient of the Logistics Society Distinction Award is an honour for professional Logisticians. The award was created to celebrate publicly the achievements of members who demonstrate attributes such as leadership, academic ability, team spirit and professional development. The first of its kind for the industry, The Logistics Society Distinction Awards inspire others to strive in their chosen profession and is recognition of this pursuit.
