GAC celebrates 50th Anniversary
The GAC Group recently hosted a Clients Appreciation Night in Singapore to celebrate the Group's 50th Anniversary. On hand to join GAC Singapore in the celebrations was GAC Group Executive Chairman, Mr. Bjorn Engblom.
Some 200 guests from the shipping, marine, and logistics industries in Singapore gathered at Clarke Quay's Indochine-The Forbidden City to join the celebration.
During the event, Björn Engblom said that outsourcing within the shipping and logistics industries will continue to strengthen as companies seek to control their costs by focusing on their core operations. As companies streamlined their operations, many chose "up-close out-sourcing" whereby an outsource service team works inside the company to provide expert support in logistics, 3PL, freight forwarding, and an increasing range of shipping services.
GAC hopes to gain a larger share of this market and appears to be adopting the strategy of many players in the market by capitalising on existing relationships and by building new ones where SCM is an important part of its service offering.
Freight Management Software Preview
The Society has organised a FREE informational talk for Members and friends of the Society who are Freight Forwarders or NVOCC's on the 31st of May at Queenstown CC.
Organised with Creativeeworld, it will showcase a Freight Management Software that will help bring online many of the more mundane activities in Freight Operations to streamline and improve Operations.
Companies who implement the solution can enjoy up to 70% funding from the MPA (Maritime and Port Authority) and this makes the solution even more attractive for companies. To book a seat please call Leonard at Tel : 6222 5280 or e-mail at leonard@logis.com.sg
